BIOGRAPHY

Alex has been singing for over 10 years with various types of bands including singing backing vocals with a Blues Brothers Tribute Band, lead vocals with a jazz funk band, a soul function band and singing alto vocals with a close harmony Andrews Sisters Tribute; other live bands have included Jazz Trios and Big Bands.

 

Her powerful voice and warm tones have been likened to Ella Fitzgerald and Alison Moyet, with her wealth of experience gained from singing with a variety of bands, as both lead and backing vocals Alex can easily change her vocal style to best compliment the music she is singing.

 

Alex enjoys and sings many genres of music but her main passion is Jazz and Big Band music, with her top inspirations being the ladies of Jazz such as Ella Fitzgerald, Sarah Vaughan, Billie Holiday, Peggy Lee, Marion Montgomery, Eydie Gorme and Dinah Washington to name a few. She looks forward to continuing her singing career with both live bands and solo gigs.
